September 2009 - Interesting custom designs during 2009 include a Mahogany table, based on the standard design, but with a painted logo instead of a chart or map. We added a nested tray that duplicated the tabletop appearance and both had fiddles (raised edges). The wood was actually Sapele, an African hardwood similar to Mahogany. The grain is beautiful in the sun after several coats of Urethane.
Also did a table for members of the Coast Guard as a going away gift to the commanding officer. There was an inscribed brass plate on the tabletop.
See photos of the above two units in the Custom Section.
We added a tray option that is based on The Contemporary, but does not include legs and is slightly smaller (20" x 13") with handles on the sides. This unit was a featured door prize at the October Great Loop Rendezvous in Rogersville, AL. See the Tray Section for details.
